Manual handling refresher sessions this month
Following a lower back injury during a shower assist in Geelong, all support workers due for their two-yearly manual handling refresher must attend a session in September. Sessions run at each hub on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bring your transfer belt and check your training due date in the Mandatory Training and Worker Screening Register before booking with the People and Operations team.

Aged care quality review scheduled for November
The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission has confirmed a quality review of our Support at Home services in the week of 16 November. Assessors will visit the Dandenong hub and speak with clients, families and workers. Please make sure progress notes are written on the day of service and that every client's plan review date in the Client Register is current.

Welcome to our September new starters
Willow welcomes fourteen new support workers, two case managers and a peer worker this month across Dandenong, Geelong and Shepparton. Every new starter completes a buddy shift with a senior support worker before working alone. If you see a new face, introduce yourself and share what you know about the client. Photos and roles are on the intranet people page.

Roster app check-in is now mandatory for every home visit
From Monday 21 September, every worker must check in and out of every home visit through the roster app, not only after-hours visits. The rostering desk will phone any worker who has not checked out within 30 minutes of the expected end time. This is the lone worker control described in the Home Visit Safety and Lone Worker Procedure. Contact Sione at the rostering desk if the app is not working on your phone.

Community meals volunteer lunch and seniors week
Willow will host a thank you lunch for the community meals and transport volunteers at the Dandenong hub on Friday 16 October during Victorian Seniors Festival week. Clients from the Tuesday and Thursday social groups are invited, and transport will be rostered. Workers who want to help set up can put their name on the sheet at reception.
